Clock Tower in Venice

Has anyone taken the tour of the Clock Tower in Venice? Is it something worthwhile doing? It is covered by the same museum pass that includes the Correr and Doge's Palace, but the tour must be reserved in advance. Also, I think there is a reservation fee for booking the tour plus the cost of the tickets.

Anyone have info on this? Thanks!

Actually, looking at the http://www.museiciviciveneziani.it website, I am a little confused about the tickets. If you get a Museum Pass, it says the Clock Tower is included but you still need a reservation ahead of time. But if you book the Clock Tower tour, it says the ticket includes entry to the Correr, The State Rooms and Archaelogical Museum, but it doesn't mention Doge's Palace.

Has anyone booked this way before? I we decide to do the Clock Tower tour, I want to make sure I get the right ticket and don't get stuck having to buy another Museum Pass later on.

Just booked a clock tour & according to our hotel concierge, the same ticket will get you into the National Archeological Museum, Correr Museum and Saint Mark's Library.

Yes, that is what the website says. So then I would not be able to get into Doge's Palace unless I buy a single ticket for that.

In May, we bought tickets for the Correr and Doge's and went on our own. We enjoyed walking through the Bridge of Sighs and seeing all the tourists taking pictures of us, peeking through the gaps. When I stepped into the courtyard, the campanile began to ring and ring for the final time that day. Then we took the elevator to the top of the campanile for fabulous views, even above the clock tower. The clock tower was fun to look at, but we had no inclination to take a tour. We stayed over on the Accademia side during the peak of the tourist-packed day and explored San Marco area late afternoon and night. Perfect!

As I recall there is no tour as such for the Clock Tower, just an elevator ride to the top. But do it for the magnificant views of Venice.
