If anyone with a penchant for opera is coming to Florence, you might want to contact St. Mark's Anglican Church (English speaking) at 16-18 Vio Maggio. I stumbled across this the week before we left the US and when we arrived on Sunday were able to attend a performance of La Boheme at the church. Setting is somewhat like "theater in the round" and the performers are incredibly talented and a world class pianist providing the accompaniment. Tickets are only 19 Euros and 2 Euro per glass champagne availabe at intermission. All proceeds go to a special church project to feed children in India. Any questions, send me an email.
