Can anyone recommend a good hotel in Rome's port, Civitavecchia? I need to stay the night of January 4, 2027. Reviews are very mixed and I can't get a sense of what would be a good choice.
Thanks
Were staying here in October so I can't recommend it from experience, however Nicola was very prompt with answering questions I had. We're paying €140 for one night in the King Suite with Balcony.
Thanks. Looks good. You said that Nicola replied. Did you book directly with the hotel? Do you know if you have to pay in advance or at the hotel?
Yes I booked directly. I gave a €50 non refundable deposit and the remaining is due in September.
Thanks. I called. They aren't sure yet if they will be open for my date.
I assume you booked over the phone? Did they send an email confirmation?
It was a combination of correspondence between email and WhatsApp. Yes, I did get a confirmation.
Thanks. The place you chose looks good but they aren't sure they will be open 4 January. I'd like to get this settled but having a hard time. All hotels are independent and seem to have spotty reviews. If anyone else has some recommendations, please let me know!

Thanks. I don't want to stay in Rome the night before a cruise especially with the risk of a rail strike. It just never occurred to me that finding a decent hotel would be so difficult. A lot of what I see available looks dodgy based on reviews.
