Looking for an overnight stay in Civitavecchia. Any hotel recommendation?
jackie, sorry not to have an answer for you, but I posted because this question is vanishingly rare on this newsboard. You might try the Search box top center. But unless you are leaving on a second cruise the next day anyway, most posters on this board don't worry about reaching a ship that boards from 1PM to 4PM, from a hotel room in Rome the night before.
hey hey jackie

don't know your dates, budget in euros, how many people, look for amenities you're hoping/wanting (A/C, elevator/lift, mobility issues, shuttle some have fees), get to port before the rest coming from rome. I've been there done that and it is not fun.
check-in times 3-4pm (ask for early check-in or drop bags) check-out times 10-11am.

click what to see and do, there are restaurants, shops, morning market. everyone has their own opinions about the place. it's nice to stay near port for that short time, depending on how many ships are in port, what berth. it's a big port with many thousands of passengers trying to find the best way. so many coming in from rome with trains, buses, taxis, shuttles, luggage to push/pull to entrances, how far to walk, how close they get to entrance of ships. i've seen the ugliness & chaos of grumpiness, stressed out, loud talking, pushing to get to front of line.
cruisemapper.com
click unselect all on left side, click ports, type in civitavecchia, month, scroll down to date of your cruise. you will see how many ships are there that day, click ships to see how many passengers it holds (3,000 to 5,000) X number of ships which can add up to thousands wanting to board their ship, what time is boarding, how many bags you have.
options are out there for you to decide what suits your fancy and stress level. good luck & happy cruising

I can't vouch for them yet. Here's where we're staying in October for an overnight stay. They've been very responsive to questions. We chose it for a number of reasons including a short walk from the train station, short walk to the cruise shuttle and a laundromat nearby that we'll take advantage of the day before our cruise.
Thanks for the information.
Look at La Casa Sul Mare.
The town has some good restaurant, including one listed in Michelin that's not expensive.
