civil wedding ceremony

We want to have a civil wedding ceremony that is legal in the US. We will be Florence end of May 2014. Does anyone have a name/website of a wedding planner that you foundb to be reliable and reasonable expense wise. Thanks! RAS

Google Getting married in Italy. Perhaps the information there will help.

I have but there are many companies that offer that type of service. There is no way to determine if they are any good....

Richard, I'm not entirely clear on the link between a civil wedding in Italy and one that is "legal in the U.S."? Are you intending to have the same type of ceremony you would at home? You'll probably find that there's an enormous amount of bureaucracy to wade through for even the simplest events in Italy. As others have suggested, do a Google search on "getting married in Italy", and I'm sure you'll find lots of good information. Cheers!

You could also look up on the graffiti wall section of this site under archived articles,I know some of the info is old but you might see some recommendations. my daughters roommate was married there about three years ago in a religious ceremony and had to use a wedding planner due to so much red tape. Best wishes.

Thanks to all who took the time to respond! Very much appreciated! I guess I will start the search and hope I pick a good one... Too bad there isn't an Angie's List for Italy!!!
