City for Weekend?

We're headed to Italy in June of next year; staying in Rome, Florence and Sorrento. We're planning four nights in each. Is there one we should definitely look to spend the weekend nights in? Is Saturday night in Rome particularly special? Or, is Sunday morning in Sorrento not to be missed? Just curious if we should plan our visit around the weekend.

I can't say much about nightlife, which is your real question.

For Rome and Florence, do review days that some museums and sightseeing are closed (or free and extra crowded). It's never the same day for everything, but still can make a difference. Rick's guidebooks include useful summaries. Saturdays are never a problem.

If not open daily, then many smaller restaurants in Florence and Rome are closed on Sundays. Don't get your heart set on one specific option. Rick's listings in Sorrento have more varying closed days.

Thank you for your reply. Actually nightlife really wasn't the focus of my question. Just wondering if there are certain weekend events or happenings that are really special and is there anything worth adjusting our schedule to accommodate.
