We are a family of five with teenagers ranging from 14-18. We are coming at the end of March/early April. We are looking at having about seven days of full days with two additional travel days. After polling the family our must sees are Rome and Pompeii. The coastal area (such as Amalfi Coast) is highly desired too. I am not opposed to renting a car when needed and not sure how that would all work for Pompeii and the coast. Fine with train travel too.
We are looking at where to fly into and out of. We are also open to another city such as Florence, Venice, etc. but not sure where to prioritize. We like history and want to see some ancient sites and ruins. Not so much into art or museums unless really cool.
Any guidance would be great. Thanks in advance!
