My husband and i are taking a cruise that ends in Rome in late April and have 4 days before flying out of Rome Airport. We have been to Rome and are looking for options to visit other cities- we would like to stay in one place for 4 days and relax and eat great food with easy access to and from Rome (we have a 6 am flight). Any recommendations?

You might consider Orvieto, for 3 nights and the last night in Lido di Ostia, near the airport.

Michael has a great suggestion: Orvieto. Lots to do and see, great food. Ron in Rome has a useful post about Orvieto here: http://www.roninrome.com/%20shopping-dining/orvieto-day-trip-from-rome/ Not sure about that last night. 0600 flight means staying at the airport, I would think. But you can take a train easily from Orvieto late in the afternoon/early evening and connect to the Leonardo Express.
