Does anyone know of a website that has the Circumvesuviana train schedule in English? Their website, www.vesuviana.it is only in Italian. Thanks in advance.
Valerie
Imagine that. An Italian company posting their schedule in Italian. Go figure. At the website, select Rete e Orari. Then select Ferrovia. After Ferrovia, select rete for the map of the train run. Orario will get you the stop by stop. However, I've never been able to get a good departure/arrival time scheudle off of this site.
Try this website for the easy way out. This is the Sorrento website and no guarantees that it's accurate.

The only thing I've been able to find is that the Naples to Sorrento train runs every 30 minutes. I couldn't find anything that resembled a timetable on vesuviana.it.
The schedules I see are at least partly in English. See http://servizi.vesuviana.it/OrarioFerrovia/invernali/a02.pdf for the schedule from Naples, and http://servizi.vesuviana.it/OrarioFerrovia/invernali/a49.pdf for the schedules back. From Naples, you want the trains labelled "Sorrento," since the trains to Poggiomarino split off before you get to "Pompeii Scavi," which is the stop you want. Under "Type," DD trains are slightly faster than DIR trains, skipping a couple of stops. Under "Classification," "Feriale" trains run Monday-Saturday as long as they're not holidays, "Ferma a Viuli" trains stop at Viuli (no big deal), and those with nothing in the box run 7 days. Bottom line...there's a train approximately every half hour.
Margaret - You just need to drill down a little further. When you're at the screen that shows stops along the train route, click on the station name to get the timetables for that station.
