My aunt and I will be leaving for a month long trip all over Italy in 2 weeks. We have been busy planning this trip, making reservations and researching for about 18 months. Just a few last loose ends to tie up. We would like to see a dinner/dance show in Sorrento when we are staying in Naples. The problem we are running into is our transportation. The show finishes around 22:30. It appears to me that the last circumvesuviana train leaves Sorrento at 21:37. Does anyone have any advice on this subject?

We understand staying in Sorrento would have been a solution, however we used points for our hotel and Naples was our only option in that area.

So, if your Napoli hotel is paid by points, you would not be losing any money to spend the night in Sorrento and return to Napoli the next day (unless I am missing something). You would pay for a hotel for one night in Sorrento; to me, it would be worth it.

And another word of advice - never let hotel "points" dictate your vacation...at least not a vacation like the one you'll be on.

Out of curioustiy, what show are you talking about? Is it a "touristy" thing or something that locals actually go to? Either way, it must be a really good show though if you are travelling rountrip from Naples just to see it.
We will be staying in Sorrento - so perhaps we might look into it as well.

Maybe this one?
It is put on for visitors but is played in Italian and is also popular with the Italian holiday makers visiting Sorrento. It has been going for years, I last went over 25 years ago.
