I'm trying to plan/book our hotels heading from Venice to Sorrento. Our train gets in to Naples (Napoli Centrale) at 20:45. We would prefer to get down to Sorrento that night if possible. Does anyone know how late the Circumvensia will run at night in early September? (September 5th). Based on the website it looks to me like the train runs until 21:45 currently. Can anyone verify that?

Last train departs at 21:41.
However the Circumvesuviana also runs a bus for later departures.
Bus departs from Napoli P.Garibaldi at 22:40 (arr. Sorrento at 00:10)-Direct run.
and another bus departs Napoli P. Garibaldi at 22:50 (arr. Sorrento at 00:40)-Interior run.
Great, thanks! And the 21:41 train will continue throughout the summer? Should I be worried that my Italo train getting in at 20:45 may be late and cause us to miss the 21:41 train?
That's an hour to make the connection, so don't worry about it. There are no guarantees in life, but there are plans B and C. Even if the train were 45 minutes late, you could still make the connection, going from the upper level of Napoli Centrale station to the lower level. Get your luggage organized and self oriented (e.g. with the directions in Rick's book), before the train pulls into the station.
