Looking for a hotel in Cinque Terre the first week of May. We'll be there for 2 nights, arriving by train and departing by train for Milan. Would like to have easy access to the train station, a view, and not too many steps to drag luggage up. Any recommendations? I've already tried Hotel Villa Steno, but they have no availability and I've emailed Albergo Pasquale and haven't heard from them. Thanks for your help
We can give more useful advice if you tell us which of the five Cinque Terre towns you have in mind?
We love Locanda Il Maestrale in Monterosso (last stay was September '07) See locandamaestrale.net, it's in Rick's Italy 2009 now. There are stairs though to get up to the hotel entrance on the first floor (US second floor).
We are thinking Monterosso, but are open to any one of the cities as long as we can easily get to the train station, has a view, and not to difficult for us to get to the room.
Reading your posts suggests access to the train station is important--therefore, two immediately suggest themselves (not Villa Stenno, it's in Old Town):
try this one first Pensione Agavior here Hotel Baiaask for a view room with a view of the water.
We stayed at Pensione Sorriso in Vernazza. We could see the train station from our room, not a lot of steps, superb breakfasts. I posted a longer reply elsewhere on this site.

There aren't many villages in CT where you won't have to drag your luggage up steps.
Be comforted to know that you will drag luggage only once. Going back down is easier. We rented an apartment in Vernazza; so I can't recommend a hotel.
