Cinque Terre yes or no in late March

We will be around Cinque Terre on March 25th. I have read that until it gets warmer places will not be open. Should we go or bypass? Will things be open?

I was there with a Rick Steves tour in March 2017. Weather was pleasant, plenty of restaurants and shops were open, not overrun with visitors.

George,

Late March should be a good time to visit the Cinque Terre, provided that the weather cooperates. A lot of the tourist places will probably be open by then as the tourist season usually begins on 1 April. If you do plan on staying a few days, Monterosso would be a good place to stay, as it has the largest number of hotels, etc. It would be a really good idea to get reservations soon!

Weather has been pretty favorable and warm so far this year in Italy. I would go for it.

I think it's a myth that things start on the Cinque Terre on April 1, other than the ferries between the towns. There were plenty of people around, and I don't recall seeing closed things at all.

It seems unlikely that Rick Steves tours would stop there in March if there wasn't a reasonable chance of an enjoyable stay.
