We plan on hiking from Verenzza to Monterosso. We would like to swim once we get there. I have some silly logistical questions.
1. I know we can rent chairs on the beach. Should we book them in advance or will we be able to reserve once we get there? We will be there in late September.
2. We will be hiking to Monterosso. Is there a place to change into our swim suits? Buy beach towels?

You might be having some difficulty finding information because you are spelling Monterosso incorrectly, and there is another town in Italy called Monterosa. If you try again with the correct spelling, you should get good answers, both here on the Forum and via Google.

I'm pretty sure you would find a shop in the town to buy a towel or perhaps a mat. My solution to this is to bring a sarong to dry off, as I won't want that beach towel later. In terms of changing, I don't remember any change rooms, but I think there is a lido, so perhaps they have some.
When we arrived after hiking we went and had a snack. Then you can use the restaurant bathroom, and could probably change in there, although they can be small. Also you will still want to cover up, people did not walk around the town in bathing suits that I remember.
