What is the weather like in CT in early November? Is it good enough to visit at that time of year?
I went over to CT after a visit to Pisa for the giorno delle matricole near the end of October/beginning of November, and it was rainy and I had a windbreaker.....I know you can get rain anytime, but I looked at my pictures from the previous days in Pisa and I had the same windbreaker on....but I also remember being hot one day......so.....its ok if you are weatherproof? (jacket and waterproof shoes?) I know there are less people then October!
It probably won’t get above 60F during the day, but it shouldn’t get much below 50F at night. Very pleasant. And fewer tourists! Which has nothing to do with the temps, but I thought I would point it out!
I have visited various parts of Italy during all seasons, and can honestly say that it is always wonderful. I assume your question is sort of, “Will it be too cold to get outside and see blue skies and enjoy myself…” yes? It will not be too cold. It should be mild and lovely. Bring a light jacket.
Also, let’s be real. This is ITALY. I went to Venice one October and we were socked in with fog and one day the rain came down sideways, and it was still one of the most magical, amazing experiences of my life. :-)
Anything is possible--but I would not plan something I could not change. Instead, plan to "wing it" and go if the weather is good, with a backup plan on hand.
We arrived in Monterosso on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023 - it was sprinkling in the afternoon, but when we ventured out for dinner there were gale force winds driving the heavy rain sideways. It cleared by the next morning, and the aftermath was a turbulent surf with dramatic crashes of the waves along the rocky shore, and no boats in the water, so we weren't able to hire a boat for an afternoon excursion. I believe all of the blue trails were closed, so we walked along the vineyard trail in Manarola; the trail to Levanto may have been open. There had been rain almost daily during our stay in Rome earlier, but the vast majority of it fell during the night - there were a few brief showers while we were at the Forum. So expect the weather to be variable and plan accordingly.
We were in CT at the end of October and we did have beautiful weather. Both days were high 70s and sunny. I think it is a rainy time of year, we were lucky in CT, less lucky at Amalfi and Lake Como.
