Any suggestions on a place to stay in Vernazza Italy? Our group consists of my 10 year old daughter and I, along with my friend and her 10 year old daughter. We will be arriving by train on June 30 for 3 nights. We would like air conditioning due to the time of year we are going but know that is not always possible. We prefer a "authentic" place to stay as opposed to an ultra modern establishment. Any ideas come to mind?

Your biggest problem is finding anything in Vernazza this late.
You could look at VRBO and airbnb.
In Monterosso we like http://www.villasteno.com/ and have used this service.

You may be able to find accommodations in Monterosso since it's the biggest of the 5 villages in CT.
Monterosso is also the only village with a sandy beach so you may consider this also when booking a hotel.
You can easily travel from one village to the next via train (less than 5 minutes travel time) as trains travel frequently & the tickets are very inexpensive.
My mom & I stayed at 'Hotel Baia' a few years ago. The hotel was clean, comfortable & reasonably priced.
The hotel is also on the waterfront & it's very close to the train station: http://www.baiahotel.it/

I have stayed at Francamaria 4 times, going in May for #5! Love the place. My advice is to book directly with them, booking.com showed them full, but when I emailed them they had several rooms. But, wherever you choose, do it fast!!
