Cinque Terre - Vernazza Lodging

Hi! We are going to be in the Cinque Terre in September and want to stay in Vernazza. Any suggestions of hotels? We are having a hard time finding availability at a place close to the water with a view. Should we consider on of the other towns?

We stayed near the post office at camere Fontanavecchia. It was lovely. No water views but the walk to the water from threre takes about 2 minutes.

Hi Amanda,

Best: Elisabetta's Villino Azzurro - Vernazza
Why: I hope RS updates his information on Elisabetta's Villino Azzurro. It is an injustice to fellow travelers to refer to Elisabetta's as "ramshackle rooms" and "let me know if it's not reliable". We just returned from staying in the 2 uppermost rooms and I can't imagine staying anywhere else when in the CT. The rooftop terrace has the most unbelieveable views which I think everyone is being cheated of, if they go to a place without it. Elisabetta explained the problem she had last year when her mother had a medical emergency. She is trying very hard to please and show that she IS reliable but that period of time was something beyond her control. Her rooms are small but very clean, accommodating, and comfortable. Please update your book with all pleasing recommendations of her place so that many of your readers can be as thrilled with their selection of Elisabetta's as I was.

Another place worth considering, in Vernazza, is La Malà. The rooms (4 of them) are modern, air conditioned, and come with breakfast (at a bar in the main piazza) and a stocked minibar (free beer, juice and water). It hangs from the cliff, with a stone terrace with an indescribable view.

I could go on, but I'll spare you. If you check out reviews on Tripadvisor, you'll see one glowing report after another.

I want to go back!

We really wanted to stay at La Mala, but it is booked. Any other recommendations similar to La Mala?

Just to add to the envy, we recently stayed at La Mala and the views from the terrace are breathtaking! Rooms are clean, comfortable, modern and state-of-the-art.
