I'm going to be traveling in Paris with my company and wanted to extend my stay and head to Italy. I have 4-5 days to stay and wondered if it was an adequate amount of time to see Venice, cinque terre and the Amalfi coast. I've visited before and stayed in both Florence and Rome but these other areas are on my bucket list and I'd love to be able to see them all if possible!! Would appreciate any travel itinerary advice, hotel and shuttle recommendations. Thanks in advance!
First, count nights, not days. The three places you mention are far apart and none is a direct trip by public transportation.
So, night 1: arrive in Venice, use any remaining part of the day to look around.
Night 2: Venice
Night 3: Cinque Terre - most of day traveling
Night 4: Cinque Terre
The Amalfi Coast would need at least 2 more nights, with another long travel day.
Is there a night 5 or do you have to leave by the morning of the fifth day?
4-5 days is not an adequate amount of time to see your destinations.
Venice is wonderful, keep that city! A train to Cinque Terre will take about 5 1/2 hours so you lose a good part of your day. Keep in mind you have to check out of a hotel, get transportation, etc. All of this adds to travel time.
Would you consider another town, say Verona, about 1 hr 10 min, or Bologna, about 1 hr 1/2?
Also, where are you flying out of? That may determine where you visit.
Amalfi Coast will definitely have to wait for your next trip!
Would you consider spending the 4-5 Days in South France?
Thanks everyone! I've decided to spend a few days in Venice and then go to London to round out my trip. Any advice on boutique hotels that are close to all attractions? What about transportation to and from the airport? Thx!!
