Cinque Terre: Trails from Manarola to Corniglia

My wife and I are going to be in the Cinque Terre for our second time this summer and we're going to hike between Manarola and Corniglia and then onto Vernazza. It's my understanding that the coastal trail is closed so we're going to go via Volastra. The question is, is the Panaramico trail out of Manarola picturesque enough to justify the climb vs the trail up through the valley or the bus to Volastra? Right now our plan is to take the bus up to Volastra and continue on from there. Thoughts?

I've taken the trail twice over the last two years. Yes it's beautiful between Manarola and Volastra. It's nice to look down on Manarola and the sea and its cool watching the guys pick grapes on their trains, but if you dont like walking uphill you can still have a great hike because the prettiest part of the walk is between Volastra and Corniglia.

I don't like uphill hikes, but it was ok for me. I stopped for a quick breather two or three times. I was actually more concerned about the somewhat steep drop into Corniglia - always relieved I didn't slide on stones and twist an ankle.

I've been lucky to have nice weather there, I wouldn't want to hike there in wet weather.
