I thought I had read somewhere that the majority of the trails connecting the CT villages were now closed? We're heading there in three weeks-anyone have any knowledge of this?

Jeff, Rick was just hiking them a few days ago, and they didn't appear closed then? Check his Blog for a short video of the part that he hiked.

We were there last week (didn't know Rick was there at the same time). The trail along the water from Manarola to Corniglia was closed and there was a small detour on the trail from Vernazza to Corniglia but, it was still one of the most amazing things I've ever done. We actually ended up making the hike on accident at the last minute and it was a highlight from our trip! Totally amazing! I don't know about Monterosso to Vernazza. It looked like they were putting up some railing on the closed portion from Vernazza to Corniglia.
