Does anyone know if trail 2 between Corniglia and Manarola has re-opened, or will be open by mid April 2013/ Thank You

Hi Bruce. Here is the official national park website with status for all paths. It shows all the coastal paths as closed, but many of the inland paths open. Enjoy your trip! http://www.parconazionale5terre.it/sentieri_parco.asp?id_lingue=2

Bruce, That particular trail was closed for most / all of last season, so it's still uncertain when it will be re-opened. I've heard that the Sentiero Azzurro trails will be back in operation at the start of tourist season (April 1st?), but haven't seen anything definite yet. The website provided in the last reply is the best source of information that I'm aware of. Cheers!

Check with TrekGuyd.com. He offers guided treks on the CT trails, but is also willing to give advice on routes, trail conditions, etc. via email. The last information he provided to me was that all of Trail 2 remains closed due to continued heavy rains and that it's likely to stay closed at least through the start of tourist season (April). We plan to be there in late-March, so I'm hoping there's a chance it opens by then.
