Do you need to purchase tickets to walk the trails in Cinque Terre? If so, where do you purchase them and at what cost. I will be travelling there in May.
Thanks!
http://www.parconazionale5terre.it/sentieri_parco.asp I think it's still 5 euro. But you can also buy the Cinque Terre card which gives you access to the park and other things, also for multiple days, or with the CinqueTerre Card+Treno, includes trains.
You can also buy the Cinque Terre Treno card which gives you unlimited rides on the train between La Spezia and Levanto. It also covers the trails and the mini-buses in each town. The four coastal trails are still closed.
Anne, As I recall, you can buy the Park Pass at rail stations in the area, also at the small wooden huts at the entrance to each trail. As the others have mentioned, you can also buy a Cinque Terre card or Cinque Terre Treno card. The Italy Guidebook has a good description of the various Passes. Happy travels!
Does anyone know if the coastal paths will be open at the end of May? I will be there beginning on May 25. According to the park website, they are all still closed, even the path from Riomaggiore to Manarola.
