I've read a couple of articles about visitors needing a tourist ticket to visit Cinque Terre beginning this summer. Does anyone have information on this? I have a trip planned for September and don't want to have issues.
It did not happen, probably can't happen, and certainly won't be this year.
The short answer is no. There was a local proposal that was blown all over the media but was not agreed upon by all concerned…at least not this year.
You will need to purchase the Parco Cinque Terre card if you wish to hike the Blue Trail between Monterosso, Vernazza and Corniglia but that has been in place for a long time.
Phew! Thank you for the quick reply.
