Cinque Terre Tour or Sienna/Tuscany Tour

We will be staying in Florence for 4 nights the last leg of our 2 week trip. I would love to see both Cinque Terre and Tuscany, but we are a bit short on time. Our travel agent recommended Sienna/Tuscany. Suggestions, please?

das,

Which area are you most interested in seeing? Siena is certainly possible as a day trip from Florence, and that's very easy to do on your own without a tour. The easiest method is to travel by Bus as that drops you in the main part of town rather than at the bottom of the hill where the train station is located. The trip is about 1H:15M depending on which bus you use. Tuscany is a large region so you're not going to have time to see much of it in the time you have available.

It's also very easy to take a day trip to the Cinque Terre from Florence without a tour. Plan on a long day so that you can spend some time in each of the five towns. I'd suggest starting in Riomaggiore and travelling between towns using the frequent trains. Plan to visit Monterosso last in the late afternoon and have a fine meal in one of the excellent restaurants before returning to Florence.

If you haven't use trains or other public transit in Italy, there are a few potentially expensive caveats to be aware of. Post another note if you need more information on those.

With a time frame of four days, it would be possible to take two day trips and see both, but that would detract from Florence which also has a lot to see.

When will this trip be taking place?

We will get a trin to Florence from Naples on 4/12 and have the afternoon to walk around. We start back to the airport late on the 16th. We really want to make sure we see everything in Florence. I have scheduled 13th and 14th in Florence for tours, and the 15th for either Cinque Terre or Sienna/Tuscany. We are going to be in Naplels for 4/10 and 4/11 but thinking of skipping it as the other two seem more important. I booked the trip for 17 days, but now I wish I couldl be there longer.
