What is the fastest route from Cinque Terre to Venice?
ces,
There are two usual routes you could take from the Cinque Terre to Venice, either via Milan or via Florence. The actual length of time for the trip will depend slightly on which of the five towns you're originating from.
Using Monterosso as an example, the fastest trip is a departure at 09:24, arriving Venezia Santa Lucia at 14:20 (time 4H:56M, 3 changes at La Spezia Centrale, Pisa Centrale and Firenze S.M. Novella). There's another departure that takes slightly more time (5H:19M) that leaves at 09:01, has only two changes in Pisa and Florence and also arrives in Venice at 14:20 (both trains mentioned use the same FrecciaArgento on the segment from Florence to Venice, which is why the arrival time is the same for both).
You didn't say which town you're staying in, but you can check all the rail travel details on the Trenitalia website.
Thank you. We are staying in Manorola.
Thanks for the additional information.
In that case, the shortest trip is 4H:42M for a departure at 09:38. Details are the same as the first trip I listed in my earlier post. Note that your destination station will be Venezia Santa Lucia.
I went from Venie to CT in september and did the route thru Florence that only had 2 changes. I think it was under 4 hour trip. We left 7:20 from Venice and got into Vernazza around lunchtime. Venice to Florence, Florence to La Spezia, then La Spezia to one of the CT towns
How to Look Up Train Schedules Online gives you the DB train schedule link and tips for using it. Enter your two town or station names, in this case, Manarola and Venezia S. Lucia.
Thanks for the help. Is 15 minutes enough time to change trains in Florence?
15 minutes is enough to walk from track to track and check the departure board for your departing bin number.
