We will leave Vernazza and drive to Varenna for our first night at Lake Como. Do you have any advice on whether we should just continue to our destination or try to work in another stop on the way around the lake area? We arrive on Wednesday and leave on Saturday and I’m trying to plan out our itinerary. We had considered taking the Bernini Express on Friday, but are thinking of staying at Lake Como instead. In that case we would not be in as much of a hurry on that first day. All suggestions are appreciated.
I don't mean to question your travel plans, but a car in both Cinque Terre and Varenna would be a hindrance.
I see that it is about 4.5 hour car drive and 5.5 hours by public transportation between Vernazza and Varenna.
If you did Bernina Express, what city do you intend on visiting? You might get better suggestions with more detail.
