We want to travel the most scenic route from Cinque Terre to Milan. Do you recommend the coastal route through Genova or the through the countryside route on E33-E35?

If you've already seen the CT, the coastal route to Genova won't add that much that's different. It's also is a bit longer of your two choices, taking close to three hours. The E33/E35 might be a few minutes shorter, but is not so red-hot either, but it's the best of the two. Go for the gusto. Take the back roads through Bobblo and Castel San Giovianni. The half-day is worth it.
