cinque terre reservations needed to be made long before the 3 month window I allowed for... I will be staying for 3 nights while hiking in late may. I still have reservations for both villa accini in monterosso and for Il Vignetto in Volastra, and need to choose between the 2 ASAP. Does anyone have an opinion between staying in Volastra (on the bus route but a lovely place to stay) versus Monterosso (one of the 5 villages though perhaps not as nice a place to stay)??? My vacation will be mostly hiking with some visiting of the towns, and I will be traveling as a single female.

Montrerosso is definitely a nice place to stay, and if you've got a reservation there I'd suggest keeping it. Monterosso will provide much easier access to transportation, and it has lots of restaurants and other tourist amenities. It can be busy in the peak part of the day (10:00-16:00) but if you're out hiking that shouldn't be a concern.
