Cinque Terre Rooms/Hotels

Hi All, I know these questions have been answered before but I would appreciate your input.. my fiancee and I will be spending part of our honeymoon at CT and have been looking at a few places. Since it's our honeymoon and first time to CT we want to splurge on a room with a private balcony and sea view. We don't mind hiking to get to a hotel but probably not as far as Volastra etc. Here's what we are looking at: La Mala - already read the reviews, has anyone stayed in Room 31? Will we mind not having the terrace on our floor? I actually saw it as a plus because people wouldn't be directly outside our room? a Ca' Du Gigante - I guess they have a new building? We are looking at the Gigante room. Hotel Baia - also looks like they have rooms with balcony/sea view Alla Porta Rossa Creme Caramel Room - what's so special about this place that they can charge 300 EU for what all others are like 180-220? Is it a larger space? Hotel Gianni Franzi - how nice are the views? I'm sure whatever we pick will be great but I would love to hear your take on things. Thanks in advance! Dan

Dan, Unfortunately, I can't offer any comments on the accommodations you mentioned. Are you committed to staying in a particular town in the Cinque Terre, or would any of the five towns be good? For those with a more "generous budget", you might also consider This B&B in Manarola. All the comments I've heard give it excellent ratings, but it's a bit on the "pricey" side and understandably popular. For awesome balcony views, I would also highly recommend This Hotel in Monterosso. I haven't stayed here, but you could also have a look at This Hotel. Happy travels!
