Cinque Terre Restaurant (reservations)

I’d appreciate suggestions for our last dinner in CT. I’d like it to be memorable from a view standpoint as well as food quality and I’d appreciate a price point for your suggestions. We are not necessarily looking for bargain restaurants but would like to keep it around 100e or less for two (w/o wine, etc.) ... though not to the point of foregoing a lovely view.

I’d also appreciate info on how to make reservations before leaving the States.

Thanks.

Belforte in Vernazza. Great food, delightful service and the best views in town. It was 3 years ago, so I don't recall an exact price point, but if you're looking for a special evening, this is one of those times where you may want to not worry too much about a few more euros here or there. I think you can request reservations through the contact link on their site.

For something off the beaten path-- The best meal & Tiramisu we had in the region was in a tiny mountain top town near CT. If you have a vehicle or take a taxi (30 mins.) we recommend Antiga Ustaia "Zita." Need reservations. www.zitalevanto.com.

Well, the best view in Vernazza is also the most obnoxious. The place just below the tower. But the best meal in Vernazza is uptown. All the way past the post office and next to the laundromat. I don't even remember the name (it was not Il Pirata, but nearby), and I can't find it on the web.. But the husband is the chef, and the wife is the hostess, waitress, busboy, everything else.. Tiny little place. The food was great. They both actually chased us down the street to return our tip, they said it was too much!!! But we expressed to them how we loved the meal so much, and just wanted to show our thanks... Wonderful place...

well I can suggest where to avoid...Trattoria da Billy in Manarola gets great reviews, but I think it's gone to their heads. We had a reservation and were still treated like an imposition, service was awful and rude, the only place in Italy where we were given a bum's rush so they could turn the table. The food was average at best and a ratio of about 10:1 overcooked pasta to seafood. Nice view, yes, but not memorable in a good way. We were a table of 4, there for our own special experience, and left very disappointed.

We loved Belforte in Vernazza. Make reservations a day ahead and be sure to ask for a table on the terrace. I think there were less than 5 tables out there. Wonderful food and fantastic service!

We were lucky to enjoy a dinner at Belforte. We chose it for the site and views and were so amazed with the food. I know it sounds common but you have to try the spaghetti with tomato sauce. Amazing fresh tomato flavor I just cannot replicate...so I need to go back. We were also treated to a local family celebration… about 50 family members celebrating a birthday with occasional accordion music and singing. One of our favorite memories of the trip.
