You could walk the famed Via della Amore (appropriate!) to Manarola and dine at Trattoria dal Billy. Make a reservation and ask for an outside table for your anniversary.

If you are staying in a hotel you might have them call and make the reservation for you. WE were treated very well when we did this.

First of all, congratulations on your anniversary!

I would suggest going to Monterosso for your special dinner. It's the largest of the five towns and therefore has the greatest number of restaurants. Here are a few suggestions.....

• If you want top quality and especially if you like seafood, try this (new town) - https://www.ristorantemiky.it/eng/index.html
• If you want an excellent meal in a somewhat smaller restaurant, this one is close to the train station (they're related to the owners of the restaurant linked above - also in the new town) - https://www.cantinadimiky.it/

• I've also found this restaurant to be excellent (hopefully that hasn't changed - old town) - https://www.ristorante-belvedere.it/en/index.html . The rail tracks pass over the restaurant so you may hear the trains rumble through at times.

Although the Via dell Amore has reopened (sort of), there are some restrictions so you'll have to consider that when you're planning where to go for dinner - https://www.nationalgeographic.com/travel/article/italy-hikes-cinque-terre-path-of-love . It looks like it will be closed at night, so the local trains will be your best bet.

Yes, there are restrictions on the Via dell’ Amore. Reservations are required, and the last entry is 6:30 pm ( thru October). So they will have to return by train after dinner. But that is true of anyplace else they go, outside Riomaggiore.

Highly suggest a visit to Nessun Dorma in Manarola, either for a light dinner or just sunset aperitivo. It’s stunning!
