From what I understand, Cinque Terre is known for its white wine. Is red wine readily available? My wife and I prefer red wine to white wine and are wondering if we will be able find red wine in the 5 cities.

Yes, of course, the Italians do serve red wine in a wide range of color from light pink to dark reds.

I’m more of a red wine person too, however, the Cinque Terre has absolutely gorgeous local white wines made from Bosco, Albarola and Vermentino grapes. They are light, refreshing and slightly floral with great acid. Please give the wine a try. I was so taken, I’ve even ordered Vermentino locally. The wine was welcome after long, hot and dusty hikes. And, yes, they have red. After all, it is Italy!
