Cinque Terre recovery?

Has anyone been recently? I'm planning on going for my honey moon in May. Should I plan to go elsewhere?

Vernazza was the mostly severely damaged and is making major progress but nobody knows the exact condition they will be in by May Monterosso sustained some serious damage but has made major progress and plans to be ready for tourists for Easter you can follow the progress on both of these villages online www.savevernazza.com and www.rebuildmonterosso.com the other 3 villages were not harmed
the CT is a beautiful area but it is your decision to go or not, even if Vernazza is still rebuilding I would say the area is still worth a visit

sumayya, My suggestion would be to carry-on with your visit to the Cinque Terre. As the previous reply mentioned, three of the villages were not affected by the storm, and the old town section of Monterosso is making excellent progress on repairs (the new town section was largely spared). It's still too early to say what condition Vernazza will be in by May, but I suspect they will have some ability to host tourists. The authorities are hoping to have most / all of the trails open by Easter, and hopefully they will be successful with that. Given the overall picture, I'm sure you'd still have a wonderful time in that area. Which of the villages are you planning to stay in? Cheers!

If you only have five days to split between Florence and Rome, you may want to consider spending two days in Florence and three in Rome. There is so much to see in Rome, and if you're going all the way there, you should see the Vatican, which will eat up a good chunk of a day.
