Cinque Terre one-day excursion

my traveling companion and I plan to take a train from Pisa to Monterrossa , arriving at about 10:40 AM. We plan to walk/hike back towards Riomaggiore, stopping in one or more of the villages to nose around, have lunch and then again to have dinner, before grabbing a late train back. We don't expect to walk the entire way (and I understand some of the trails are closed, in any case?) , and will either take the train between some villages or , hopefully, the ferry.

Would love some advice about which bits to be sure to hike, which village or villages to spend more time in (would love to visit and explore al 5 thoroughly, but that's just not in the cards.) And a good choice or two for meals? Can anyone help?

Skip Corniglia just because of the effort to get there.

My order, favorite and down from there (others will certainly have different opinions) Manarola, Riomaggiore, Monterrossa, Vernazza.

I highly recommend the vineyard trail around Manarola. For Riomaggiore, walk the town, make sure to go up by church. For Monterrossa, there are trails up from the train station to a chapel and cemetery that were nice.
