Cinque Terre- Monterosso hotel not contacting us back

Hi team, my boyfriend and I are traveling to Monterosso in CT and we are trying to contact the Hotel Villa Steno. I have emailed them on 2 different emails, and submitted a stay request last week and still have not heard back. Should I keep waiting, or start looking somewhere else. Every review I have read about the hotel say that it is the BEST hotel to stay in Monterosso and has great views. I really had my heart set on that! Not sure if I should move on or maybe fax? thanks!

Hi Ken, I actually used both methods. I clicked "book now" and also sent an email to the address:
I also send an email and "book now request" to their sister hotel in hopes of talking to someone about Hotel Villa Steno. I even had my boyfriend submit a request in case mine didnt go through. I submitted on Sunday and still have not heard back yet :( I am so determined to stay at this hotel as I have read numerous reviews and everyone said it was fantastic. I dont want to give up! We will be in Monterosso from June 10-June 13th. So hopefully it isnt already full yet! I know its busy season, so keeping my fingers crossed. I had my travel agent call them and they said that we needed to submit a request online.. so back to square 1. Thanks for the advice! Wish us luck!

Michelle, Another thought occurred to me..... Some users have reported that some E-mails have been blocked by their Spam filter. Depending on which Internet provided you're using, perhaps that's the case? Given the popularity of Villa Steno, I'd probably just call them and get the matter dealt with quickly. Unfortunately, it's about 22:00 there now, so you'll have to wait a few hours (as I recall, the desk staff quit work at 21:00). I tried to book a room there for mid-September and was only able to get four nights. I still have to find one night at another Hotel, but unfortunately Albergo Pasquale is also booked. Some Hotels don't seem to offer rooms for single travellers, so I'm still trying to arrange somewhere for one night. In any case, I wish you good luck!

If you (or someone you know) has an international dialing plan, I'd suggest giving them a call. Or, you could also try contacting them at the info shown for their sister hotel (which is right down the hill from them...........all owned by the same family). http://www.hotelpasquale.it/ Could be they (or the Cinque Terre) are having some sort of internet problem. Hotel Villa Steno is very nice, and the views from their balconies are so very peaceful, especially in the early a.m. and in the evening. Good choice!

Thanks Margaret! I actually just had my travel agent from my compnay call for me, and they told her that we had to submit an email request. Which we did.. :( So now I will try the sister hotel, thank you for your help! If Hotel Villa Steno doesnt work out, do you have another suggestin of somewhere nice to stay that has a great view or balcony? Thanks so much!

Michelle, Could you confirm one point. When you tried to book your room, did you try to contact the Hotel via E-mail or by clicking the "Book Now" tab and then "Availability Request"? I always use the "Book Now" method, and have never had a problem, although it sometimes takes them a day or two to reply. I'd suggest giving it a couple of days, as the wait will be worthwhile! It's a fantastic Hotel and the owners are wonderful. There's a good reason that it's rated as the No. 1 Hotel in Monterosso on Trip Advisor (at least that was the case last time I checked). When will you be in Monterosso? Villa Steno is very popular, and often fully booked (often with RS tours), so that may be part of the reason you're not getting a reply. You could also call yourself, rather than using a "third party" (keeping the time difference in mind of course). The owners and desk staff are fully fluent in English. Good luck and Buon Viaggio!

If you are planning on being there in 30 days from now, skip the e-mails and just call as it quite possibly is already booked for the summer.

Michelle, I would call rather than e-mail. I had the same problem in trying to book a hotel in the Dolomites. I kept e-mailing & never got a response. I finally called them & they said that they had replied to my e-mails but for some reason I wasn't getting them (they didn't go to my spam folder either). I booked over the phone with that particular hotel and they faxed me a confirmation. Unfortunately my thought regarding Villa Steno is that they're probably booked already for June. It's a very popular hotel and June is the start of peak season...my bet would be that they're booked solid already but I would call just to confirm. Good luck.
