Cinque Terre itinerary

We are docking in Le Spezia and have from 7 AM till nine pm, already deducting an hour on both sides of the timeline for padding. (actual 6:45-10:00). We would like to see as much as possible. I'm wondering if getting on a ferry to see from the water all the wav to the farthest town. And then train hopping all the way back Going to the popular restaurant in metrola NessunDorma. Is it a feasible itinerary. Any recommendations for cliffside restaurants?
In the more southern towns would be appreciated!
Thank you

According to the timetable during the summer the first ferry leaves La Spezia at 9.15 and arrives at Monterossa at 11.30. Train from Riomaggiore to La Spezia to get you back by 9 pm would be 8.35 arrives at 8.45, then you have to get from the station to the dock, not sure how long that takes. There is another train at 9.06 which gets in at 9.15 so could be a bit tight for a 10.00 departure.

We are going mid-october. I guess I could Google. It's a ferry schedule. Sure. Hate to wait 2 hours to leave on some transportation. Maybe we could take the ferry back

I would vote the train for your early departure and hit 2-3 stops you are interested in and then look for lunch. Don't feel like you need to hit all the towns the train stops at, though people do it, its not worth it in my opinion. The crowds can be brutal as the day progresses. Also, be aware, the "ferries" are not that large and they will not run when the weather is bad. If they are running, yeah you could catch one back south and hop off where you please. If you want to decompress after lunch or early afternoon, Levanto is a nice stop, not as majestic but less crowded with a real beach etc...

Since we are there mid-october, hopefully it will not be as crowded. Does anyone have a recommendation of which towns are more beautiful, our cruise does stop at the Amalfi Coast, But we are there a very short amount of time about 8 hours. And I know we would need more, so this is kind of a wonderful backup to get to see as our original port was levorno. Thanks in advance

hey hey ellymayrowe19
docking at le spezia at 7am may take awhile to get off ship with many cruisers wanting to get on a train. stations will be busy, lines to buy train tickets, some grumpy/nasty/impatient people. october is still a busy month with crowds & ending some cruises. it's harvest season with many festivals/fairs plus many thinking it's after summertime. we use to travel then but seems so many others are doing the same thing.
cruisemapper.com
tracks ships at different ports, how many on days, scroll down to ships and see capacity which may add up to thousands. my opinion only, catch a taxi at port go to nessun dorma (always carry address with you), roam around, take train or ferry back to ship before it can become a madhouse. not only cruisers, daytrippers, tour buses & private tours. a few tips i have learned traveling a long time in different cities to pass along.
are you taking the pesto class or just having lunch at nessun dorma? if so ask host if they have info for ferry or use rome2rio.com to what they offer. enjoy your time & have fun. be patient with research, take time with some stress but once you got it, you happy

We have a suite, so we're privately escorted of the ship at any time that we would like bypassing everyone else. So that's not a problem.
But otherwise great information thank you
