Cinque Terre in September

Any comments on CT in September?
Hows the weather, warm enough to swim?
What about the crowds?
Thank you

We were in CT in mid September and my partner LOVED swimming in the water in Vernazza. As for crowds, July and August (not September) are the months when the beaches are most crowded. (But keep in mind that now Vernazza has jet skis for rent. You might want to try Monterosso, which has a more traditional beach.)

We were in CT area 3rd week in Sept. My husband hiked the trail, but divided into 2 day. We spent 3 nights. My husband saw alot of young couples in bathing suits hking. When they got too hot or wanted to take a rest from hiking they followed one of the trails down to the water to relax and cool off. I met a young couple buying swimsuits in one of the towns so they could jump in. It was very crowded in alot of areas. I talked to alot of people who were from Germany and England who were there on a long get away weekend. We had sunny days the whole time we were there, but I heard the next week they has some storms come in. I'd definetly try to make reservations now if you know you are going in Sept. We started the end of June and all the places I contacted were already full. Since we had decided on CT we spent more to stay.

I've been to CT twice in September. Last year in mid September, the weather was warm - 80's during the day and 60's at night. I was there in late September 2002 and the weather was cool - high 50's during the day. No rain. It wasn't terribly crowded either time. Had no problems being seated for dinner without reservations. I stayed at Memo Rooms in Vernazza last trip and would highly recommend it. Must call Enrica at 0187-812-360 or mobile 338-285-2385 to reserve and then call back 1 week before arrival to confirm.
