Cinque Terre in November or December?

I am hoping to take my first trip to Italy this November or December, and I've always wanted to visit the Cinque Terre. I like being in Europe during the winter for fewer tourists and lower rates, and it fits well with my work schedule. I've read on this site and others that the Cinque Terre shuts down this time of year. I am only looking to hike the trails connecting the towns and enjoy the natural scenery.

What kind of experience can you have in the Cinque Terre in November or December?

You can still visit, but there is a risk of pouring rain at that time of the year. And Cinque Terre is not where I would want to be on a rainy November day.
I would perhaps still plan it, but be as flexible as possible.
What are the other locations you have in mind in Italy?

Thanks for the reply, Balso! I am planning on visiting Rome and Florence, maybe Siena as a day trip from Florence.

Here is my suggestion then: stay flexible. It is low season anyway, so finding accommodation with 2-3 days' notice will not be hard.
Plan an overnight in 5 Terre if the weather is nice, or one in Siena instead if the weather is less good. Siena is worth the overnight stay.
