Cinque Terre Hostels

Does anyone know of a hostel in (not near) Cinque Terre where I can find a double room for 50 euros or less or dorm beds for 25 euros or less? The one I tried to book just filled up...

This hostel is also full. Any other suggestions? Thank you!

Amy,

Not a Hostel but you might try Mar-Mar Rooms in Riomaggiore (www.5terre-marmar.com). In addition to room rentals they also offer some Dorm accomodations. Although their rates for a double room are a bit above the price you listed, it's a good alternative. I found they offered both good quality accomodations (nothing fancy, but clean and affordable) and professional service. If you decide to stay with them, BE SURE to plan your arrival before 17:00 though, as that's when they close the office.

Good luck!

This may not help you, but we just walked to the first village and there were many places with signs out offering accomodation. If they were full they just ran over to their friends (up and down round the little streets and steps and stairs) and before we knew it we had somewhere to sleep the night. Unfortunately I can't remember the price, only to say that we are budget travellers.

The last week in Oct. three of us, ages 59-63, traveled thru Italy by train. We walked from Manarola to Riomaggiore, in the Chinque Terre. Found a charming room, at the Mar Mar, just about ablock from the end of the trail. Rick Steves Christmas cards filled up one wall, the man at the desk, proudly said yes, we are listed in his book. We checked in, and for about $80.00 US dollars were shown to a great room, with two beds, sink, stove, table, refrig. and clothes pins, and a clothes line right out side our window. It was charming, as was the town itself. I would recommend it to anyone on a budget.
