We have a conference in Pisa in October and have three day before. Is it possible to due a portion of the Cinque Terre? Day trip or an overnight or two?
thanks
Very easy to fit-in an overnighter in the CT. You even have time to throw in a day trip to Lucca which is even closer. You'll find quickly that there is not much in Pisa other than the leaning tower and adjoining Field of Miracles.
Most certainly. From Pisa, you will be able to get to the CT in under 90 minutes. Stay overnight.
Kristie, As the others have mentioned, visiting the Cinque Terre from Pisa is easily possible. You will most likely have to change trains at La Spezia Centrale, but it's an easy trip. I'd suggest staying for a night or two, as the towns have a far different "character" at night. I always enjoy the towns in the evening. One suggestion though - even in October, it would be a good idea to pre-book accommodations there. Do you have any idea which of the five towns you'd prefer to stay in? The Italy 2012 Guidebook has lots of suggestions for lodgings in each town (if you have one available). Happy travels!
Ifr you like and enjoy evening in town is better stay minimun 2 nights. Anyway in early is better have reservation before to choose the best place you like. The 3th day if you like is possible visit Lucca close to Pisa /about 2w0 minutes). Enjoy your stay
