This May we'll be staying in Florence and Cinque Terre. I'm looking for hotels and places to stay at right now and was wondering if it's really worth booking a place that includes breakfast. I heard from people that Italians are not that big into breakfast and that if I book with breakfast I shouldn't be surprised if that's then just coffee, bagel and fruit.
What have you guys experinced?
Bagels in Italy? I doubt it. Generally it's a a buffet type continental breakfast (pastries, bread, marmalade, fruit, yoghurt etc.) with cappuccino or espresso. Some Places may also have scrambled eggs, ham, cheeses and the like? Most places offer breakfast included in the price or for 5 to 10 euro extra. It's up to you. I don't know what type of breakfast you are used to, but I wouldn't bet on bagels in Italy too much.
