Cinque Terre Ferry & trains

Hello,
My husband and I will be in La Spezia in early September and want to experience the Cinque Terre views from the ferry, then visit a few towns by train. Our plan is to take the ferry from La Spezia to Monterosso, then take the CT express train back, stopping in Vernazza, Riomaggiore, and Manarola. Has anyone used Navagazione Golfo di Poeti ferry line? Regarding the CT express train - where are the towns in relation to the train platforms? We are both in our early 70’s, walking steep steps may be difficult. And lastly, suggestions for restaurants with the best sunset views. Looking forward to your suggestions and input. TIA!

Stations are in the town except for Corniglia which is located high up the hill from the station. From the Corniglia station you can climb the hundreds of stairs connecting the town to the station or take the shuttle bus.

All towns require some uphill working since they aren’t really flat except for Monterosso, which is flat, but the uphill walk is never too steep.

Katy, if you haven't discovered it yet, for your plan it's best to purchase a 1-day Treno card for unlimited use of the regional CT trains. You only have to validate it once, the first time you use it (be SURE to do that before boarding!) It will cover your rail from Monterosso>Vernazza> Manarola> Riomaggiore> La Spezia. Note my slight change in order of villages as, heading south, Manarola comes before Riomaggiore. :O)
