Planning a trip to Cinque terre in June, and would like to take a boat from Monterosso to Riomaggiore for sightseeing the villages from the sea.
Ther ferry schedule (link below) shows boats in the afternoon leaving at 4:25, 5:25. I’d like to catch the 4:25 ferry.
What time should I anticipate getting into line?
Can you purchase tickets ahead of time, or do you have to stand in line?
What about hiring a private boat on the spot? Is that possible? How much would that cost?

The ferry boats work well and give you a good view of the coastline. There should be a booth open all day selling tickets; just buy at your convenience. Have a great trip!
We purchased ferry tickets on the day we took the public ferry from Riomaggiore to Monterosso. The cost is 30 euros per person. We saw ads for private boat tours for 50 euros PP.
Will you be staying in Monterosso? You should be able to buy tickets any time during the day.
As I recall, the Ferry ticket office was located directly across from Hotel Pasquale in the old town (near the tunnel).
