My husband & I are staying in CT for 5 nights. Looking for recommendations for short train ride day visits. Suggestions, please?

There are quite a few choices.....
- Explore the five towns, either via the local trains or a combination of trains and the Ferry.
- Take a day trip to Porto Venere (using the boats is an easier method as Porto Venere does not have rail access).
- Have a look at Levanto, the town just north of Monterosso (great beaches)
- If you're staying in Monterosso, you can enjoy the beaches there as well
- Take a day trip to Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino (easy to do)
- Hike whichever of the local trails are open (there are lots of trails so you can hike as much or as little as you want)
Also be sure to spend some time just enjoying Il dolce far niente (and of course the great food), as that's one of the best activities there.
