Cinque Terre Day Trip Easter 2025

Hi,

I am trying to decide which day would be better for a Cinque Terre day trip - April 19 or 20, 2025. We are a family of 12 and will be traveling in from Volterra in 2 private vans, we are not deterred by the almost 3 hrs travel time each way as this will be a chance for us to spend time together. I would appreciate suggestions based on two points: crowds and weather.

  1. On the National Park website both the dates are marked Band C (High turnout) so while both days are expected to be busy, is Easter Sunday expected to be more busy?
  2. I have been following the weather and it looks like April 19 is a wet, windy day at Cinque Terre, whereas April 20 looks bright. While weather could change completely, does it make sense to factor this into our decision right now?

We will do a tour of Siena and the Chianti area on the day we don't go to Cinque Terre and need to make a reservation for the vineyard tour and tasting. This is fully paid up front and cannot be canceled, also not fair to the vineyard for us to make a last minute cancellation considering we are such a large group.....which is why I want to pick a day and be done with it. Of course, if weather is really bad we will cancel Cinque Terre altogether and visit another town in Tuscany.

Please share any advice and thoughts.

Thank you!
