Cinque Terre Coastline Area-Accommodations

We stayed at RS recommended http://www.ariadimare in Manarola. It’s a bit of a hike through town but the view was amazing. We had the upstairs room with our own private patio overlooking the sea.

I’ve also stayed at Aria di Mare and loved it! Actually going back again June 2020. The place is great, awesome views and the host (Maurizio) is very helpful. It’s a casual booking process, but don’t let that fool you. He has a simple operation, booking via email and I think we pay using PayPal.
Another point about this hotel is that Manarola does get busy. However, his place is away from and above the crowds. It’s a really peaceful place with incredible views. Cost is well under 200/night too

Monterosso: La Spiaggia. Family-owned, practically on the beach, and very easy walk from the train station. Has an elevator. Rooms are small (not unusual in Italy), bathrooms are a bit tight, and furnishings are simple but very clean; request a sea view room with balcony or at least one of the larger ones. Breakfast included; terrific desk staff (Maria is a gem). Very popular and books up fast and early prior to high season. Price may be right around your $200 limit or may exceed it in May but take a look, anyway? We loved the place.

Locando IL Maestrale in old town Monterosso. Great hosts and location.

I just returned from Italy and stayed at Hotel Villa Steno in Monterosso. The owners, Mateo and Carla were wonderful. They made you feel like family and the hotel was the best in my 16 day trip. Rick also recommends this hotel in his book. I highly recommend this hotel. Great location and immaculate with a wonderful breakfast.

We were in Italy a few weeks ago and very much enjoyed our stay at the Hotel La Colonnina in Monterosso. Great location, awesome buffet breakfast, very helpful staff, nice rooms.
