Has anyone used the bus to go from Manarola to Volastra as part of the hike from Manarola to Corniglia? Or from Riomaggiore to Telégrafo? We are thinking of hiking down from Telégrafo and would appreciate any advice about using the bus to shorten some hikes. Thanks!

Yes, twice several years ago we took the bus up from Manarola to Volastra. It worked well; allowed us to skip the steep uphill portion of the hike. Then the hike from Volastra is mostly level until it descends down into Corniglia. It's a nice hike, and less crowded than some of the other CT hikes. Enjoy!
