The Rick Steves travel guide advises that the Cinque Terre is a prime travel destination at Easter. As It happens we will be arriving in Milan a few days before Easter 2015, and wanted to go to Cinque Terre straight away. Should we avoid Cinque Terre until after Easter week, or just go ahead and make hotel reservations soon? How popular is the Cinque Terre for Easter weekend?

If you plan to stay overnight at the Cinque Terre make reservations ahead of time. The 5 terre are always popular with nice spring weather, especially on weekends and holidays, where there are also lots of Italian day trippers. Once you have hotel/apartment reservations you have nothing to worry about.
