Has anyone been in the Cinque terre on April 25 - Italian liberation day?? Are businesses open for meals? Trains and boats running between the villages OR does everything shut down? We have planned a three night stay in the area and our 3 rd day falls on April 25 2018. (Arrive night of April 22 in Monterosso. We are hoping to catch trains to Lucca in the late afternoon on April 25. Thank you

Nothing shuts down. It's like any Sunday. Restaurants and trains will work as usual. Buses will be on a "festivo" (Sunday) schedule.

It can be extra busy that day, especially if the weather is nice. So, best would be not to arrive too early. Late afternoon sounds perfect. And even if I expect the crowds to have left by the evening, it's always better to make a reservation for a restaurant on a day like that.
