Hello -- We are doing the Heart of Italy tour in September. We don't know yet WHERE we're staying Cinque Terre, but we've also heard you need dinner reservations (though perhaps that's only for certain towns). Does anyone have knowledge of then Heart of Italy CT stop, such as where you stay? Does anyone have recommendations for a place to have dinner? Thanks in advance!

Hi there! I'm sorry no one answered your questions, but I'm also assuming since you're with a Rick Steves travel group you'll get plenty of recommendations. The biggest recommendation I got, via the Forum is: Cantina di Miky in Monterosso. Enjoy!

The itinerary shows the 1st night is a group dinner and the 2nd night is on your own, so you should have the opportunity to make a reservation for the 2nd night, where ever you end up.
The guide will undoubtedly have recommendations.
No need to fret, you will find good food.

I agree that you will have plenty of time to make reservations for the second night. I went on this tour last Sept and had no difficulties finding a restaurant on the second night.
